No one would ever try and deny the value that gutters have in the home and elsewhere in the plumbing scheme of things. Gutters are pretty much essential to the modern environment because without gutters people would be living in a swamp. This swamp would be extremely smelly too because without gutters to carry all the waste and water the world would be a very messy place to be.
This is one of the reasons the prices for gutters have gone through the roof, the suppliers are holding the world to ransom because the threat of defective gutters is enough to make even the craziest of prices seem acceptable. However many times the fitters of gutters get away with these prices it still does not make it right or fair. The people who fit gutters have become like plumbers, in that they exploit a possibly negative situation. They know that when you have called them it is because the leaky mess from your gutters has reached epic proportions and prices are the last thing on your mind.
This is not to say that gutter prices should be super cheap either. To fit or clean gutters, especially on high buildings is not a job for the faint-hearted. It involves putting your life on the line to make sure that the gutters are secure, whether you take the approach from the bottom and use a ladder or scaffolding or go from the top, you are exposing yourself to all manner of things that could go very wrong. When standing on a ladder to work on the gutters and you are balanced on the tips of your toes no price seems high enough to justify what you are feeling, or if you are looking down from a two-story roof, where the gutters are literally the last thing between you and the concrete below, and you are there to work on them, any prices that may have been quoted for gutter cleaning or fitment, seem like a bargain. So the next time you get some prices for your gutters to cleaned or fitted think how it feels up there.
